Public weed treatment parameters set

The Lake Gaston Weed Control Council met Thursday and voted to maintain the current grass carp stocking rate while approving an applicator and chemical provider for the 2013 treatment cycle.
Skips Aquatic Solutions, of Henderson, N.C., was chosen out of two bids as the 2013 applicator for the publicly funded noxious aquatic vegetation treatment in Lake Gaston, replacing PLM Lake and Land Management, which has its Atlantic Division headquarters in Littleton and was the 2012 applicator.
