Herbert J. Friedman was a Founding Member of APMS. He served as the Society’s first temporary and first elected Secretary-Treasurer in 1961 and 1962, respectively. He served as our third President in 1963-64.
A long-time resident of Tampa, FL, Herb was born in Mt. Vernon, New York. Herb attended the University of Illinois where he studied accounting. He also attended New York University and the University of Grenoble in France. After moving to Tampa in 1945, Herb founded Southern Mill Creek Products, selling agricultural supplies and equipment and also serving the mosquito and hyacinth control programs in the state of Florida. In 1983, he sold the company, but remained active in many organizations until his death in 2004.
